Vincent Laforet’s Cheap Camera Challenge from Digital Rev

One of those old film cameras

Digital Rev do a series of videos called the “Pro Photographer, Cheap Camera challenge” where they get a well known photographer to try his or her skills using a camera that is beyond it’s prime.

In their recent video they ask Vincent Laforet, the pulitzer prize winning photo journalist to give it a go, giving up his Canon 1DX and instead using a Canon A2E film camera. His resulting photos are great.

It’s an interesting collection of videos, and reinforces the idea that you really don’t need expensive kit to take great photos, just lots of practice and patience!

About Joe

I've been an avid photographer for about 15 years now. It started out when I got my first decent digital camera, which was an Olympus C700 Ultra zoom, a great camera which allowed me experiment with a range of photography styles. After that I moved on to SLRs, mostly with Canon, and enjoy all forms of photography although I'd probably say I most enjoy wide-angle landscape photography. My day job is to run this website, so I hope you enjoy your visit!
